Background

What makes being a counsellor important to me? I find working with clients more than a job, it is a passion. To be in the presence of someone discovering and accepting who they are, finding a sense of healing and feeling empowered to achieve their full potential, is also a privilege.

Getting here wasn't easy. It involved facing challenges, overcoming obstacles and going through a process of self-reflection, self-discovery and change to become closer to the person I want to be. In many ways this is a road that will never end, but I am embracing the journey.

If you recognise a need in yourself to go on a similar journey, then maybe I can keep you company along the way. I truly believe that you can become the change you want to see.

Approach

I offer indoor, online and outdoor therapy options. I have witnessed the value of each of these options, depending on individual needs.

You may prefer in person therapy and the physical presence of being in a room together, building a connection based on creating a holding space between client and counsellor.

The increased convenience and accessibility of online (video) counselling could be more suitable if you may struggle to attend a session in person due to reasons including disability, family or work commitments or living outside of Edinburgh.

Outdoor therapy can be a valuable option to those who enjoy being close to nature and the therapeutic and physical benefits this can bring. Yes I am based in Edinburgh... and occasionally the weather makes outdoor work challenging, but with a coat and hat usually we can make it work. The option will also be there to move online for a week if required.
